ELKS
"HOOP SHOOT®"
FREE-THROW
COMPETITION
The current ELKS "HOOP SHOOT
®"
Program continues to provide a competitive basketball free-throw contest for in
excess of three million young people every year. This program has developed into
one of the most recognized youth activities in our great Nation.
Held in December and January of each year, children up to 13
years of age from throughout the surrounding communities of each Lodge are
invited to compete in local tournaments.
The winners of each division (based on age and sex) are
recognized by the sponsoring Lodge and invited to move on to district, regional,
state and finally national competitions.
National champions are recognized at the Basketball Hall of
Fame, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

"ELKS SOCCER SHOOT®"
COMPETITION
The "ELKS SOCCER SHOOT®" is rapidly
developing into one of the most popular modern programs by Grand Lodge. Since
its inception in 1999, this program’s popularity has increased steadily among
both boys and girls from the ages of 7 through 13. The ELKS have responded to
the need of our youth in supporting this competitive, yet organized program in
the fastest-growing sport in our Nation. It allows ALL youth from large urban
centers as well as small suburban communities to compete on a local and national
level, and is undoubtedly the fastest-growing program supported by our Order,
and as ELKS, we have the perfect opportunity to interact with our youth through
this program, once again demonstrating that…
